Difference between Digipacks and CD cases

There is a few differences between a Digipack and a CD case.

A Digipack Looks like this.

A digipack consists of a disk tray and on each side foldable cardboard folds and sometimes contain a sleeve. So it looks like a book which you open up. The front cover will be the cover of the album with the artist, songs on album are normally listed on the back. The whole point of a digipack is to add value they add value becasue they contain more art work, and are able to promote other CD's, can provide information such as what awards they have
won, record company and copyright to the album and album credits. Sometimes digipacks are created as a special addition. I will be creating a six sided digipack for my CD. This will alow me to add lots of art work and make the cover astheticaly pleasing as I can by adding eye catching photos and large fonts.

A CD looks like this.

This is what a CD looks like without pictures.

A CD is also known as a jewel case, this consists of a hard case made from plastic with a disk tray holding the CD inside. They normally consist of a front cover which will contain the name of the album and the artist with a striking image. And a back cover containing the songs on the CD. This is a more impact digipack, the benifits of a CD case is that they do not get as damaged as much, as they are hard cased and keeps the CD well protected.
